Prayers before Behemoth's concert.

Behemoth - one of the best known Polish band - doesn't have an easy life in its own country. Its leader - Nergal - is still a target of hatred and threats for tearing the Bible few years ago and the band itself is being attacked by Catholic people who do everything to block its concerts.
And when they aren't able to block, they use even more powerful weapon - PRAYERS.

"Fundacja Życie (eng. Life Foundation) accuses Nergal of promoting Satanism and announces a prayer in front of Wytwórnia (music club) where the Behemoth's concert will be held.

Behemoth will have a show in Łódź's Wytwórnia on Friday 3rd October at 6:30 p.m. Information about this concert reached also the Catholic circles.

Their appearance in Łódź announced also members od Krucjata Różańcowa za Ojczyznę (eng. Rosary's Cruciation for Motherland) from Warsaw. The prayer will begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of Wytwórnia. - I encourage everyone who does not agree with promoting Satanism in Łódź to come here and support the demonstration - writes Michał Owczarski from Fundacja Życie.

Besides the prayer in front of the club, foundation started an action of writing emails with an appeal for cancelling the show. They aimed among others the president of Wytwórnia club Mariola Wojtysiak and partners of Wytwórnia, Łódź's House of Culture, Charlie Cinema and Łódź City Museum. Authors of the letter indicates that the only satisfactory solution is to cancel the concert immediately.

Below is the text of the letter:

Dear Mrs President,

We firmly protest against renting a concert hall to held a concert of Behemoth, which have to take place during a tour promoting "The Satanist" album. We interpret it as your inclusion into a campaign of promoting Satanism in Poland.

The Leader of the band Adam 'Nergal' Darski is well known for a scandalous behavior during shows. There are serious reasons to believe, that this time also, he will behave in blasphemous and obscene manner.

Concerts of Behemoth are known for a demonic atmosphere and a blasphemous messages. "Norm" is tearing the Bible by a leader of the band, drinking "blood" from a chalice etc. Lyrics of the band mocks christian values, encourage to worshipping satan, but most of all they are praise murders and incite to violence and hatred:

'Chwała mordercom Wojciecha' (eng. Glory to murderers of Wojciech)
'dzisiaj ścinamy głowę Watykanu' (eng. we beheads Vatican today)
'my jesteśmy (...) waszym piekłem, naszym ukojeniem' (eng. we are (...) your hell, our relief)
'Christian to lions"
'Lucifer comes / Rides on the wings of winds / Opens the gates of ancient towns / Leads us to eternal delight'
'Voice ov an aeon / Angelus Satani / Ora pro nobis Lucifer' (eng. Voice of an aeon / Devilish Angel / Pray for us Lucifer)

The aforegoing declarations are fragments of lyrics of the band which you decided to
host in your club. We are not interested and we are not going to judge if Adam 'Nergal' Darski is a satanist or only harmlessly 'shows horns' - it is essential that hundreds of young people, who will participate in the Behemoth's concert, will be exposed to contact with evil, ugliness, blasphemy and desecration. They will be exposed on promoting Satanism - the extremely nihilistic ideology, socially and spisitually dangerous."

It's not the first time such an action takes place. Few days ago there was news that Behemoth's concert in Poznań is cancelled. It was only a rumor, but Catholic portals were bursting with proud. But cancelling show on Seven Festival 2014 in Węgorzewo under the pressure of Catholic circles is a fact.

Every time Behemoth comes back to the motherland for a tour is a fuss. Same thing happened when Madonna's had  a gig Poland few years ago - fortunately the concert was held in the end. People were praying before Iron Maiden concert, but it was no such a big action. On the other hand, no one protests when comes to the 'less known' bands like Mayhem, Gorgoroth etc.

Despite of all the hatred and warnings from Catholic circles:
I'm going to see Behemoth live in Warsaw.
And I'm sure it will be an awesome concert.
As always.
